We are living a hectic life style these days. We often get our eyes tired and we get dark circles under eyes. We forget eye care and continue living till we get serious eye problems. Foods for Eye Care: The following foods for eye care are extremely important:
Drink plenty of water daily
  • Always have a diet rich in vitamins. Include papaya, milk, eggs, fish etc. in your diet.
  • Eat green leafy vegetables.
  • Drink plenty of water. Water keeps eyes fresh all day long.
  • Have a diet rich in vitamin A, C and E. Eat tomatoes, spinach, poultry, carrots, cucumber and dairy products.
Home remedies for eye care 
You will find the following home remedies for eye care really useful:

Eat Carrots
Eat Papaya
  • Wash eyes daily with cold water 3-4 times in a day to get shiny and sparkling eyes
  • To ease the weary eyes, dip cotton pads in chilled milk and keep them on closed eyes. Relax for 10 minutes.
  • If you have puffy eyes: Peel a potato and apply the peelings on your eyes. Relax for 20 minutes. Take a quick nap.
  • Apply a paste of turmeric and pineapple juice to get rid of dark circles under eyes.
  • If your eyes are irritating or reddish, apply curd to your scalp and have a mild massage.
  • If you have dark circles under eyes, keep cucumber slices on closed eyes and relax for 10 minutes.
  • Potato Slices can also be put on eyes to get rid of dark circles under eyes.
  • Wash your face with cold water before going to sleep. Also remove any make-up you have on your face before going to sleep.Make-up creams have some harmful ingredients which can spoil the face if make – up is on face for whole night. Do not apply any cream before going to sleep. Apply night cream if you need to.
  • Soak gooseberry in water. Let it be there for whole night. Next morning wash face with this water. Eyes will be relaxed and sparkling.
  • Take 10-12 petals of fresh rose. Mix the petals with raspberry leaves. Put the raspberry leaves and rose petals in a glass of water. Allow this water to stand for few hours. Then wash your eyes with this water to get instant relief from tired eyes. It is a medicine for treatment of cataract.
  • Soak cotton in lukewarm milk and cover eyes with this cotton for 15 minutes.

Exercises for Eye Care

These exercises for eye care are going to help you a lot in your mission of getting healthy eyes:
Give warmth of palm to your eyes


Rotate your eyes
  • See beautiful flowers and greenery daily. It soothes your eyes. 
  • Sit silently and close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Now imagine that you are at a beautiful place and that place is at arm’s length. Open your eyes and feel the relaxation. Do it 4-5 times.  
  • Fill your mouth with cold water. Wash your eyes with fresh water while having water in your mouth. Then spill the water. 
  • Sit straight and have a deep breath. Now rotate your eye balls in both the direction: clock wise and anti clock wise. Do it 10-12 times. It will relax your eyes. 
  • Rub your palms together. Now place the palms over closed eyes. The warmth of palms relaxes eye tissues.
  • If you have been working on computers for 2-3 hours and your eyes are tired, blink your eyes 10-12 times. Close the eyes for 5 minutes and then open your eyes. Go out and see some greenery. Come and work again.
